Real-time lithium battery monitoring
Step-by-Step Guide

Set Up Your LW Node
in 5 Minutes

No tools required. No technical expertise needed. Just plug in, connect, and start monitoring your batteries.

What's in the Box

Everything you need to get started.

1x LW Node

Compact monitoring device

1x USB-C Cable

USB-C to USB-A power cable

Quick Start Card

With your Client Code & PIN

Before You Begin

Make sure you have the following ready:

  • A Wi-Fi network at the installation location (2.4GHz — the node does not support 5GHz)
  • A USB power source — router USB port, USB power adapter, or custom DC power supply
  • Your Client Code and PIN — provided by your Elite Security representative
  • JBD BMS lithium batteries within 10 metres of where you'll place the node

Step-by-Step Setup

Follow these five simple steps to get your LW Node up and running.

1

Power Up the LW Node

  • Plug the USB-C cable into the LW Node
  • Connect the USB-A end to a USB port on your router, a USB power adapter, or any 5V USB power source
  • The LED will light up blue (pulsing) — this means it's in setup mode

Tip

Most Wi-Fi routers have a USB port that's perfect for powering the LW Node. This way, if the router has power, so does the node.

Note

For installations without USB power available, custom 12V, 24V or 48V DC power adapters are available on request.

2

Connect to the Node's Wi-Fi

  • On your phone or laptop, look for a Wi-Fi network called EliteSec-XXXX (where XXXX is unique to your node)
  • Connect to it — password: elitesetup
  • A setup page will appear automatically
  • If it doesn't open automatically, open a browser and go to http://192.168.4.1

Enter Your Details

Fill in the setup form with the following information:

Wi-Fi Network

The name of your local Wi-Fi network

Wi-Fi Password

The password for your Wi-Fi network

Device Name

Node Connects & Discovers Batteries

  • The LED will blink cyan while connecting to Wi-Fi
  • Once connected, the LED briefly turns solid green, then starts breathing green
  • The node automatically scans for nearby JBD BMS batteries via Bluetooth
  • Within 2–3 minutes, it will have discovered all batteries in range
  • The node registers itself with the Lithium Watch cloud and starts sending data

Approve Your Batteries

  • Log in to your Lithium Watch dashboard (URL provided by your Elite Security representative)
  • Go to the "Nodes" page — you'll see your newly connected node
  • Click on the node to see "Discovered Batteries" waiting for approval
  • Click "Approve" next to each battery you want to monitor
  • Give each battery a friendly name (e.g. "Battery 1", "Main Bank")

That's it!

Data will start appearing in your dashboard immediately. Your batteries are now being monitored 24/7.

What Happens Next

Once set up, your LW Node works entirely on its own.

Continuous Scanning

The node scans and reports every 60 seconds, keeping your dashboard up to date in real time.

Instant Alerts

Alerts are sent when thresholds are crossed — low voltage, high temperature, cell imbalance, and more.

Automatic Updates

The node automatically receives firmware updates over the air. No manual intervention needed.

Auto-Reconnect

If the node loses Wi-Fi, it will automatically reconnect when the network becomes available again.

Tips for Best Performance

Get the most out of your Lithium Watch setup.

Place within 10 metres

Position the node within 10 metres of your batteries for reliable Bluetooth Low Energy connection.

Stable power source

Ensure the node has a stable power source — if it loses power, monitoring stops until power is restored.

Clear line of sight

The node works best with clear line-of-sight to batteries. Avoid placing metal enclosures between the node and batteries.

Multiple batteries, one node

One node can monitor multiple batteries simultaneously — no need for one-to-one pairing.

Scale with multiple nodes

For large installations, multiple nodes can be used across different locations, all reporting to the same dashboard.
